Short-Term Number Plates​

Short-term number plates are required for transfer; inspection or test drives of unregistered motor vehicles or trailers. Short-term number plates are valid for 5 days. They are only issued in connection with a special short-term number plate insurance, which is proven by the eVB (electronic insurance confirmation) number. The green, international insurance card is required when driving with short-term number plates in other European countries.

• Vehicle Registration (Germ. Fahrzeugschein)/registration certificate part I or the Title of Ownership (Germ. Fahrzeugbrief)/registration certificate part II

• valid TÜV certificate
